Nikolas Krishna, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. He is the director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy Center in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Krishna is a graduate of St. George's University School of Medicine, in Grenada, and completed his residency training at New York Methodist Hospital, in Brooklyn. Following medical school, he fulfilled two cardiology fellowships with University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Hartford Hospital: on both advanced heart failure and transplantation and general cardiology with an emphasis on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Dr. Krishna also received a Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences from University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Krishna is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and heart failure and transplant. He has performed extensive research on various cardiovascular conditions and outcomes, as well as published and presented his work in peer-reviewed journals and at medical symposiums. Among his many affiliations, Dr. Krishna is an active member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, the American College of Cardiology, Heart Failure Society of America, and the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
