About

Kate Tibbs joined LifeStance Health as a family psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner in February of 2013. At LifeStance Health, Mrs. Tibbs provides treatment for both children and adults at our West End and Midlothian offices. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Lynchburg College and her Master’s degree as a Family Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner through the University of Virginia. Prior to joining LifeStance Health, Mrs. Tibbs worked with children and adults within the VCU Health System. While working at The Virginia Treatment Center for Children, Mrs. Tibbs worked closely with traumatized children using a collaborative based problem solving approach. Through both inpatient and outpatient training, Mrs. Tibbs developed expertise and interest in treating mood disorders, ADHD and anxiety disorders. As a family psychiatric mental-health nurse practitioner, Mrs. Tibbs adopts a multifaceted collaborative approach to patient care. She believes that medication management is just one aspect of a successful treatment plan and that supportive therapy and teaching coping strategies are valuable tools in treatment. Mrs. Tibbs is a member of the Virginia Counsel of Nurse Practitioners and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. Her personal interests include traveling, fishing and spending time with family.
