Dr. Houghton has special interests in preventive care pediatrics, sports medicine and treatment of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. He has volunteered on eleven medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Dr. Houghton is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Virginia Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Medical Society of Virginia and Richmond Academy of Medicine.
