Dr. Petrizzi serves as Hanover Family Physicians' Medical Director. Dr. Petrizzi has served as the Atlee High School Team Physician since it opened in 1991. He has co-developed the SMART (Sideline Management Assessment Response Techniques) Workshop. He also serves on the VHSL Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, as well as, on the Hanover County Concussion Management Team. Dr. Petrizzi has edited and been a contributing author to several publications including Sports Medicine for Coaches and Trainers. He teaches Workshops on a variety of Sports Medicine topics annually at the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine , National Provider Identifier & Virginia Academy of Family Physicians meetings and is the Chairman of the VCU Sports Medicine Conference. He also serves as one of the Team Physicians for the VCU Rams. Dr. Petrizzi is Clinical Professor for the VCU School of Medicine and is a member of the Medical Society of Virginia, American Academy of Family Physicians, Virginia Academy of Family Physicians and Richmond Academy of Medicine.
