Brian Lentz, MD, graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, for which he received Departmental Honors. He remained at Tulane to complete his Medical Degree, and then moved to Newark, Delaware, where he completed his Residency at Christiana Care Health System in both Emergency and Internal Medicine.
Post-residency, Dr. Lentz spent a research year in Cardiovascular Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia, and subsequently completed at Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at VCU Health (formerly the Medical College of Virginia) in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to joining HCA and Cardiology Associates of Richmond, he completed a second Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Vidant Medical Center at East Carolina University, in Greenville, North Carolina.
Dr. Lentz has worked as both a Clinical Instructor and Attending Physician at several major health systems during his career including Weill Medical College of Cornell University at New York Presbyterian, University of Virginia Health System, Fairfax Hospital, and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
Dr. Lentz is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Nuclear Medicine, and is board-eligible in Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Lentz is an active member of the American College of Cardiology.
