Amber is a nurse practitioner who obtained a Bachelor of Nursing degree and a Master of Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Amber tested for and obtained a psychiatric nursing certification. She works in the Midlothian office providing treatment for both children and adults, and enjoys working with pregnant and nursing mothers. Amber worked at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children for 3 years prior to coming to LifeStance Health. During this time she developed skills in collaborative problem solving and trauma informed care while working with a wide range of mental illnesses. In addition, she worked in the Pediatric Emergency Room at Virginia Commonwealth University for 2 years, where she educated staff on mental illnesses and advocated for psychiatric patients during their time in the ER. Amber has a primary interest in treating ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Amber believes prescribing is just one component of a successful treatment plan and will actively encourage therapy and self-care practices. Amber’s interests include traveling, running with her dog, various water sports, baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
