Dr. Asif Jafferani is a cardiologist who specializes in heart rhythm problems (electrophysiology). He comes to James River Cardiology by way of the University of Wisconsin in Madison where he completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine as well as Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Prior to that he completed his internal medicine residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois. Dr. Jafferani’s clinical interests include minimally-invasive catheter procedures for the treatment of atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias, as well as implantation and management of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs, such as pacemakers and defibrillators), cardiac resynchronization therapy, lead management, leadless cardiac pacing and novel technologies in the field of cardiac pacing and defibrillation.
