Lauren Todd, MD

About

Lauren Todd, NP received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2013 and earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2019, both from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner.

Before working as a nurse practitioner, Lauren worked as a certified critical care nurse at VCU Health in their Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit. She cared for post-operative patients who underwent coronary artery bypass, valve surgery, thoracic surgery, aneurysm repairs, and heart transplant. Lauren also worked in a cardiothoracic surgery progressive care unit which cared for advanced heart failure patients including those with Left Ventricular Assist Devices.

Lauren became a Nurse Practitioner to empower patients with health knowledge. Seeing the full scope of chronic illness in the ICU reinforced her passion for preventative medicine. She enjoys counseling and educating her patients on their chronic diseases, medications, lifestyle modifications, and health promotion methods.

Outside of work Lauren loves to spend time with her family and her dog Daisy; especially at the beach. She enjoys exploring the city of Richmond and trying all their yummy restaurants.
