About

Lauren comes to VPFW from the Women’s Health and Oncology Units at Johnston-Willis Hospital where she worked as a nurse, clinical coordinator, and assistant director since graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University in 2010. Lauren realized from providing years of nursing care to the women on the Women’s Health Unit that this is a specialty that goes deeper than just obstetrics, pap smears and mammograms. Through her work with patients on both the Women’s Health and Oncology Units, and her passion for the health of women at all stages of their lives, Lauren believed that she could do more to help the women she served if she were a nurse practitioner. Not only would she be able to provide clinical nursing skills, but also the knowledge, patient education, and counseling that women deserve. She set out on a journey to earn a graduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and ended up earning a dual degree in both Women’s Health and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care. She is board certified as a nurse practitioner in both fields.
