About

Marcella Ford is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She first earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA, where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. After completing undergraduate school, Marcie began her 25-year career as a registered nurse in critical care at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. While working full time in ICU, she returned to Brenau University to continue her education, and received her MBA in Healthcare Management in 2007. From there she was accepted into the MSN-FNP program at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, GA, and graduated in 2012 with her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner. Once she received her master’s degree, Marcie transitioned to a nurse practitioner role, first with Gastroenterology Associates of Gainesville in Georgia, and later with Bon Secours Mercy Health in Virginia. Marcie joined our practice in 2021 and sees patients at our Colonial Heights office. “I love developing relationships with patients where we can be honest with one another, and the patient can feel comfortable and safe with what they are feeling. Being a healthcare provider doesn't always mean we communicate information the patient wants to hear; Sometimes it is simply what the patient needs to hear, and my role is to help them process that information.” Marcie is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
