Tonya Shah, NP

About

Tonya Shah, NP earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 2013 from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master's degree in Nursing from Simmons College in 2016. She is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a family nurse practitioner. Prior to joining James River Cardiology, she worked in women's health with Virginia Physicians for Women and as a pulmonary medicine nurse practitioner at VMG Specialists.

Tonya enjoys the everyday challenge that cardiology presents and the opportunity to practice evidence based medicine while simultaneously delivering compassionate care to patients. Outside of work, she is a self-proclaimed home-body and the happiest when she is with her family, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors.
