About

Dr. Ashby is a Virginia native who is looking forward to returning home after spending the last 4 years in Dayton, Ohio completing her OB/GYN residency. She has a background in osteopathic medicine and is trained in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT).

She became involved in the medical field during college at James Madison University where she was a volunteer EMT with the Harrisonburg Rescue Squad. She discovered her love of Women’s Health while working as an OB tech at St. Francis Medical Center before going to medical school. She also has an interest in Public Health and completed a Masters Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has a passion for International Mission trips and has traveled to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, where she provided both general medical and OB/GYN-focused care.

She has found she will run for chocolate (Hot Chocolate 15k), jewelry (Nike Women’s Half Marathon) and various charities that she supports. Things she loves: traveling, beach time, exercising, reading for pleasure and eating good food. She has wanted to be a doctor since she was a child, and coming to Richmond to practice as an OB/GYN is a dream come true.
